About Me

Md Mehedi Hasan I Sustainability Expert

I am Md. Mehedi Hasan — an Environmental Specialist and Sustainability Expert with a BSc and MSc Degree in Environmental Science. I founded Sustainable Kitchen Expert with one clear purpose: to bring rigorous, science-backed analysis into a space that desperately needs it. The eco-friendly product market is flooded with green labels, bold sustainability claims, and marketing language designed to make you feel good rather than inform you. As someone trained in Environmental Impact Assessment and Life Cycle Analysis, I find most of it deeply misleading — and I built this platform to cut through it.

Most people see a frying pan; I see a chemical composition. Most people see a plastic container; I see a potential source of endocrine disruptors. My goal is to take the complex data from my Environmental Science training and turn it into simple, safe choices for your family.

My Qualifications and Area of Expertise

My recommendations are not based on personal preference or brand relationships — they are grounded in the same scientific frameworks used in academic and regulatory environmental research. Here is the foundation I work from:

  • BSc & MSc in Environmental Science

Academic Degree from Renowned University in chemical pollutants, ecosystem impact, and the interaction between synthetic materials and human health

  • Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA)

Formal methodology for evaluating how products, materials, and processes affect human health and the surrounding environment across their full lifecycle.

  • Chemical Material Analysis

Applied expertise in identifying hazardous substances — including PFAS, phthalates, BPA, and micro plastic precursors — in everyday consumer products.

  • Sustainable Life Cycle Assessment (LCA)

The scientific process of evaluating a product from raw material extraction through to end-of-life disposal — the only rigorous way to determine if something is truly eco-friendly

  • Toxin-Free Material Sourcing

Practical experience identifying and recommending materials that are both safe for human use and environmentally responsible at scale.

Why the Kitchen and Why Now

During my postgraduate research, I kept returning to a striking finding: the average kitchen — the place where we prepare food for ourselves and our families — is one of the most significant sources of daily chemical exposure in the home.

PFAS “forever chemicals” in non-stick coatings. Microplastics leaching from synthetic sponges and plastic utensils into your food and water. Hormone-disrupting compounds in food storage containers. Volatile organic compounds released by conventional cleaning products. These risks are invisible to the naked eye, absent from product packaging, and almost never discussed in mainstream consumer media.

What frustrated me most was the gap between what the science clearly shows and what people actually know when they stand in a supermarket aisle. That gap is what Sustainable Kitchen Expert exists to close.

I believe that a sustainable future starts on your stovetop. My mission is to simplify the science so you can cook — and live — with genuine peace of mind.

What You Will Find on This Site

Every piece of content on Sustainable Kitchen Expert is written with the same scientific rigour I apply in professional environmental research — but communicated in plain language that anyone can act on. Specifically, you will find:

Eco-Friendly Product Reviews: In-depth analysis of scrubbers, cleaning tools, and kitchen materials — evaluated not just for performance, but for genuine environmental credentials and chemical safety. I do not simply repeat manufacturer claims; I assess them against scientific criteria.

Non-Toxic Cookware and Utensil Guides:  Rigorous assessments of cookware materials including cast iron, stainless steel, carbon steel, and ceramic — covering what is safe, what is not, and why the science says so.

Zero-Waste Kitchen Systems:  Practical, evidence-based frameworks for eliminating single-use plastics, reducing food waste, and building a kitchen that is genuinely sustainable — not just superficially green.

Science-Backed Buying Guides:  Detailed comparisons of eco-friendly products that cut through marketing language and give you a clear, evidence-based answer on what to actually buy.
